Fixtures & Fittings

This week the plumber was back to install the bathtub, shower heads and tapware. The sparky was also there to do the powerpoints, lights and lightswitches. In the common areas, we've chosen the Clipsal Saturn switches which look pretty cool!

We're doing all our interal lighting seperately to Wisdom and met with a consultant from Beacon Lighting this morning to discuss our requirements. Oyster lights in most rooms but we want something quite special for the void in the entrance hallway. It needs to be modern, pretty and within our budget! It will be interesting to see what he comes up with.

Our 'one man band' tiler was onsite this morning to start on the downstairs floor tiling and our feature tiles around the fireplace. From what our SS tells us, the tiling will be complete next week and the painters will finish second coats and begin the third.

We also now have a garage door :)

D has not committed to an exact date for PCI and handover but said there is no reason why we shouldn't be in by the last week of March....YIPPPEEE!

  3. Thanks guys! It's a relief to see it all coming together as we wanted. As I'm sure you know, it's quite a process choosing colours etc and hard to visualise the end result.

Sandrine - most of the house will be painted Bristol 'white smoke' with a few feature walls of Taubmans 'murkey water'

Lauren - our SS is saying end of the month but there is still a bit to do before then so we'll see!

  4. Hi Rachael,

we have most of the colours and doors etc similar to you .. we went with the display home colours and tiles etc ..

Your new home is looking fantastic ..

Our wisdom ss said that once the shower screens go in basically it is 4weeks to hand over..

for us that is a loooong way to go..

Good luck with the PCI and hand over for end of the month (i cannot believe we are in march already)

  5. Thanks Marlon, that's interesting to note! I'm not sure when the shower screens go in but I'll be asking on Friday :) It may feel like a long way off for you now but trust me, it will be here before you know it!

Yep, it's hard to go past the colours at the display home as Anita has done such a beautiful job.
