As the title suggests, we're almost there on the internal fit out. According to our spies, the house was 'buzzing with activity' today. A sneeky peek inside this afternoon revealed a house almost ready to tile and paint! The carpenters had completed all the upstairs door jambs, architraves, skirting boards and wardrobe doors. Boxes of tiles were laying everywhere with mortar beds prepared in the wet areas, portico and balcony, ready to be tiled.
It has been a very productive few days! Tomorrow is our 'update' day from D, looking forward to hearing what's in store for next week. We are meeting our pool builder on site tomorrow to discuss 'Stage 2' of the pool construction....very exciting to get that kicked off! The plan is to have it ready by handover so that we can move in and enjoy!

ReplyDeleteMetricon also told me I couldnt have a sliding door that was right at the top of the two steps we have in between our levels downstairs - which I thought was a bit dumb, as its a sliding door you actually have to stop to open it - you cant exactly take a running leap at it, fling it open and forget there are two steps there!! Funny the variations between builders.
LOVE the wardbrobe doors on the boys rooms - SO much nicer than full mirrored panels, I have a pic of doors like that to change ours in our sons room later on :)
Have they given you an estimate completion date yet?

Re the doors above the stairs, you are right. We've got the same step down just at the stairs, just like you. And Metricon wouldn't agree on us having a door there. Instead they offered for us to have a half door on the other side( so living room). That would have looked so odd to have a half door leading under the stairs on the living room wall. A door my little people :)
How long have they said that the painting will take?? This is so exciting!!!
