Electrical Appointment Backfire..

Well, just when everything was coming together; only a few instalments to go, items are being finalised, excitement of knowing the move in date is only a matter of weeks away...and now this happens..

It turns out, the cabling for speakers we were 'advised' on by Wisdom's electrical consultant, are useless for our home theatre. Not only that, but cabling for Pay TV has not been installed. Both of us (for differing reasons) are big fans of Foxtel and we were excited about watching it in our brand new home theatre, after nearly 12 month without it.

At our lukewarm electrical consultation, we apparently decided we didn't need this. Seriously, who would choose NOT to have Pay TV cabling? Needless to say, both Rach and I were astounded at this latest development. We had thought of everything (or so we thought) and had checked and re-checked all items in our tender.

I am pleased to say that two good things have come out of this mess.

1. We've received some excellent advice on audio and the set up of our home theatre room. Through a good recommendation, we have come across Michael Tood of Audio Excellence.

We are yet to conclude on the hardware but are looking at Sonance architectural speaker, ONKOYO amplifier and an Optoma projector! I was previously unsure of projectors but Michael assures me the 1080p projector will work a treat!

2. Wisdom have been very helpful and accommodating with getting these two problems rectified. We raised the issue with head office on Monday, and by Wednesday we've received calls from both the Construction Manager and our SS, who have offered to do everything they can to rectify the issues. Full points to Wisdom and their fantastic staff!
