It was nice to see the tradies arrive and complete work when D said they would! So far this week, everything is happening as it should on the house front.
The doors and other internal carpentry arrived last Thursday. We had workers onsite on Saturday (a rare occassion!) to render the front portico and they did a fabulous job. We are very impressed with their workmanship. The carpenters arrived yesterday and started work with the doors and architaves and today the waterproofing began.
On arrival onsite yesterday for a peek, we were greeted with a locked front door!! We tried the internal access door via the garage....locked! We managed to 'break in' to our house but I think from here on in, getting inside will become difficult without a key :)
If all goes according to plan, the kitchen will be installed on Thursday. However, the waterproofing has only been completed in the bathroom areas, not the kitchen???

Congrats guys the house looks fantastic! I am loving your bricks. What brick did you go with? We are tossing up between Earth and Ashphalt from Austral or Choc Ice from Boral. Would love to see a contemporary with one of those bricks but haven't found any so far.
ReplyDeleteShayne - ahhh it's so exciting! Just think back to the planning/pre-build stage, we all really haven't got that long to go now. That's what we try to remind ourselves on hot days like yesterday when we're hot, bothered and grumpy in a non-airconditioned unit!
ReplyDeletekahell - Thank you! It's the Austral Ashphalt :) You will not be disappointed, it's a lovely brick. We originally chose the Portland but switched just before bricking stage...very glad we did!

ReplyDeleteFantastic! I thought that it must have been! I am so pleased because it looks fantatic in the pics. Is there any chance you might let me know the address so I can do a drive by/. I have been stalking bricks the last couple of weekends, but it would be fantastic to see a contemporary wisdom as that is what we are building. No problem if your not comfortable with that. can't wait to see the finished product on here.
