Progress Pics

Took the below pics this afternoon. We're both relieved and thrilled with our new brick choice and very glad we changed! The proper colour will come to life once the bricks are washed down.

  1. hi Rachael, we are currently at Slab stage an building an Impression 38 MKII and have the Austral Symm. Portland Bricks too .. With Wisdom did you have to request a sample before the bricks were delivered or is than common practice?? what was the exact problem of the new bricks batch ?? We are concerned now since if we change bricks we may need to go back to the developer for colour approvals etc.

    Hope to hear from you..

    Regards, Marlon

  2. Hi Marlon,
We received a call from Austral on the day the bricks were due to be delivered and they offered to send sample bricks to site for approval. We were told that the new batch was more 'mottled' than usual and I believe this is the reason they offered to send samples, I don't think it's common practice. The bricks themselves are perfectly fine however, the variation of colour in that one batch is greater than in previous batches. The main reason we upgraded to the Symmetry range was for the consistency of colour. We didn't want the 'mottled' look. After seeing the Ashphalt on a house over that following weekend, we knew it was prefect for the look we wanted. I'd highly suggest phoning Austral and getting the addresses of a few houses who are building with the new batch, just to put your mind at ease! Hope this helps. Give A a call if you need some more advice, I'm sure she'd be more than happy to help. Cheers, Rachael

  3. Bricks are looking great Rachel!! Not bad for a days work.Just noticed how well they have covered your front windows to protect it from all the bricking grime. Ours have a 'goop' on them, but most of the window trims are exposed.
