The brickies were back early on Saturday to finish the job. We really felt for them in the 30 degree plus heat....yuck!
Our SS called yesterday, apologising profusely for not phoning us on Friday. He sounds like a lovely genuine guy, looking forward to meeting him next Tuesday. The cladding, eaves and downpipes will be installed this week (weather permitting!) and the plumber will finish his rough in. Once that's done the bricks will be washed down and the scaffolding will be removed. WAHOO!

ReplyDeleteLooks great Rachael! We were just in QLD and saw a few Colourbond roofs in what looked like Surfmist and thought of you.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your bricks cleaned :)
Hi Rachel, had a quick question from you.. with your bricks did the brickies have a lot of damaged bricks and bricks with chips on the corners etc.. did they lay all of them on the walls or did they chuck them out and get new ones ???
ReplyDeletethey have started the work on the brick today and i have seen some bricks i would have not lay-ed on the walls my self
your help is appreciated since i need to address this with the Building SS for us
Hi Marlon, we had a large pile of 'reject' bricks and other rubble that was collected earlier this week. So far we haven't noticed any damaged bricks in the walls. We'll get a good look at it once it's all washed down. Just wondering...is that particular wall due to be rendered? They can afford to be messy with those walls but if not, definitely bring it up with your SS.
